Faith N. Bates, D.M.D.
I am pleased to introduce
my Pediatric Dental practice in Smyrna. The practice is limited to
the oral health care needs of infants, children, adolescents, and
persons with special needs. I am committed to providing quality
dental care for all children in a fun, and compassionate
environment.
I received my pre-doctoral training from the University Of
Louisville School Of Dentistry in 1999. I then completed specialty
training in Pediatric Dentistry from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital
Medical Center in 2001. My training in pediatric dentistry affords
me the ability to focus on the oral health and unique needs of young
children. I believe that early dental visits and comprehensive
education is a key to a life of beautiful and healthy smiles.
I am passionate about children’s oral health; and therefore, I put a
great emphasis on early examinations and education. I welcome
infants as early as age one as recommended by the American Academy
of Pediatric Dentistry. The American Academy of Pediatrics also
endorses this recommendation. The initial infant exam serves two
purposes. The first is to establish a dental home where the child
can receive the necessary dental care. The second is to establish a
relationship with the parents and provide guidance and education
regarding early oral care.
I am affiliated with Children’s Health Care of Atlanta at Scottish
Rite and Egleson where I perform needed dental treatment under
general anesthesia for those children who are unable to cooperate
for treatment in the conventional dental setting. Characteristics of
these children include those who are very young, have developmental
delays, or complex medical conditions. I have successfully completed
the written section of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. I
have the Georgia Board of Dentistry Conscious Sedation Permit. I
also hold certificates in Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced
Life Support.
My staff and I strive to create a fun and educational environment
for all children. I absolutely love what I do, and I feel blessed to
be able to positively impact children’s lives. We are accepting new
patients and welcome you to bring your family and friends in for an
appointment.
